Every dollar plants a tree.
Just like us humans that feel tired and need to recharge after a hard day's work, natural stones and crystals that absorb energies also need to be cleansed and re-energized for them to work at their best.
At first glance, these crystals seem to be simple rocks that are pretty on the outside. Yet, these beautiful stones are believed to have healing powers and metaphysical capacities that can benefit us. Some of these include clearing and cleansing spaces, balancing our moods, promoting harmony, and absorbing negative energy.
With all these done on a daily basis, these natural stones and crystals are working double time and deserve some TLC every now and then.
It's a give-and-take relationship with your crystals. They will work for you if you care for them. When will you know if they need a break? You'll feel it - Is it dull? Their energy is "off"? Then it's time to cleanse and recharge them.
These stones and crystals give us positive energies, and at the same time, absorb negative ones. After dumping negative energies onto them, they have to be cleansed and "refreshed”.
Once cleansed, it can then be recharged and put back to work again (Think mobile phone that ran out of juice).
It’s important that you research the properties of your stones and crystals before trying these methods, as one method may be compatible with one crystal but not for the others. Also, be aware which method works for you: After doing one, hold the stone or crystal in your hand and connect with its energy. You can feel it in you if it worked or not. Try different methods to know which one works for you and your crystal.
1. Running water
This method is best done in a running stream or river. Submerge your crystal under running water for a few minutes.
Saltwater from the sea also works well. If you don’t live near the sea, a homemade Himalayan salt solution will also do the trick.
Keep in mind that this water method cannot be used for soft or water-soluble crystals like selenite. Examples of crystals that can be cleansed in water are Quartz, Agate, Amethyst, and Tiger Eye. If in doubt, try the next method.
Just like cleansing, the best charging method varies from person to person and crystal to crystal. Try these and see which one works for you:
1. Moon's energy
The moon is believed to be a good source of energy, especially feminine energy. This is great for crystals that address emotional healing. Still, it works well for any stone or crystal. All you have to do is bring out your crystal at night and bathe them in the moon’s light. It’s believed that a full moon works best.
Don’t have the luxury of time? Don’t worry. There are some methods that can cleanse AND charge at the same time:
1. Sun's energy
The sun is the most powerful source of light, heat, and life. It’s no wonder how this mighty star can cleanse and recharge crystals effectively. Just put your stones and crystals in direct sunlight for a maximum of 30 minutes and voila! Again, research which stones can handle the sun’s powerful heat and light. Black Obsidian, Carnelian, and Tourmaline are some of them.
2. Earth
Dug up from the Earth, these stones are at home when buried in their natural habitat. This method may take a little longer (keep them buried for a few days) but the earth’s energy is very powerful in cleansing and recharging these beauties. Take note that, to maximize this energy, these stones and crystals must be buried directly in the ground and not just some soil in a pot.
3. Singing bowl
There are many singing bowls to choose from, but these bowls all have the same use of giving off sound that can cleanse and charge your stones and crystals at the same time. With your crystals near, chime a singing bowl to give these stones a good sound bath. Tuning forks and bells work just fine too.
Now that you know the different methods to cleanse and charge your crystals, try them out and feel what works for you and your natural stones. As they give their positive energies to us, so should we also give them the care they need.
It’s just like Giveably’s mantra: As we receive, we give back.
